From the 50s through to the 80s, rock and roll has inspired some of the most amazing fashion trends of our times. We encourage everyone to get dressed up and bring out their inner rock star. From kids to adults, it's a great way to be a part of the day.
Rock and Roll Cars
From the 50s, 60s and 70s we have the hottest vehicles that take you back to an era of motoring where style was everything! It's all about icons like the FJ or the sleek fins and chrome of a Cadillac. Then there are the classics or the custom street rods, the mighty muscle cars and of course the motorcycles and scooters.
Rock & Roll Rendezvous celebrates all vehicles of the Rock & Roll era with prizes awarded for the best vehicles in the following categories:
- Best Hot Rod
- Best Original pre - 1955
- Best Custom pre - 1955
- Best Original post - 1954
- Best Custom post - 1954
- Spirit of the Day (includes the vehicle and it's occupants' dress)
Where would we be without 'Mustang Sally' by Wilson Pickett or the Beach Boy's 'Little Deuce Coupe'? Or how about the Ted Mulry Gang's 'Jump in my Car' or AC/DCs 'Highway to Hell'? From the 1950s through to today, motor cars of all makes, types and eras continue to inspire musicians and songwriters.
For a lot of us the ideal soundtrack has to be rock and roll. Whether you are 16 or 60, chances are one of the almost 300 genres of rock and roll music will put a bounce in your seat, and get the percussive thumb work going on the steering wheel!
The Rock and Roll Rendezvous is a celebration of all vehicles that fit within the rock and roll genre. From the classic Cadillacs and American makes with their fins and chrome, to the modified hot rods, and the Australian and American muscle cars, there is something for everyone.
