Changes to LP Gas rebate scheme

Last night the Federal Budget handed down by Treasurer Wayne Swan included some changes to "manage" the strong demand for the LPG Vehicle Scheme. Essentially the grant for factory vehicles remains as is but the grant for retrofit vehicles is gradually being reduced by $250 per annum over the next 4 years starting 1st July 2009.

"The Government will manage strong demand under the LPG vehicle scheme by reducing the rebate for post-factory conversions to LPG fuel systems, at an estimated cost of $7.9 million over five years (including a saving of $6 million in 2013-14).

The rebate will be reduced from the current $2,000 per conversion to $1,750 per conversion from 1st July 2009, and then reduce further to $1,500 from 1st July 2010, $1,250 from 1st July 2011, and $1000 from 1st July 2012.

For privately owned new cars the $2,000 rebate for factory fitted LPG fuel systems will remain unchanged."

This management of grants seemed to be a consistant theme with other programs also getting scale-backs.

So if you've been thinking about getting your car converted to LP Gas now is the time to give us a call and book it in!

Boss 290 dyno tune for export

This motor is destined for the USA to be installed in a high profile Aussie Ford 1938 ute by renowned builder and fabricator Ryan Butler. Orignally from a BF GT, it will be coupled with the same 6 speed automatic found in the donor car and will be sure to wave Aussie flag overseas.

Eastside Automotive was proud to source, tune and deliver this motor and we look forward to seeing the finished project, as we're sure Ryan (the builder) and Mike (the owner) are too.
