New photos in the gallery

We are always looking to expand our image gallery with more photos of our customer cars. The gallery now features 34 customer cars.. and today we added 3 new cars! We don't usually make a blog post about our gallery updates but this time we thought we would - how nice are these rides?!

1967 Camaro
This car is a real head-turner, with the license plate "BLIND" would you expect anything less?

1978 Corvette
This 'vette gets the privilaged title of being the first car to be featured on the front page of the Eastside Automotive website, and for good reason.. it looks fantastic!

Ford BF XR6 Turbo
The XR6 Turbo has proven to be a favourite of the 'new Fords', and this one is a great example of this popular car. Custom exhaust, big rims and plenty of attention to detail.

Specialist door lock replacement

It's no secret that the guys at Eastside Autotomotive are brilliant, technically adapt, lateral thinkers. It's also no secret that when challenged with a new task that they respond in a logical way demonstrating their technical ability.

So when this Ford Panelvan showed up at our door we immediately jumped to task and started investigating solutions. The owner didn't want to create a fuss, and he didn't want to spend a fortune on his immaculately maintained Falcon.

The problem was obvious, that the factory rear door handle had failed a few years earlier, and the modified door handle (see the holes about 20cm above the 'factory' handle) had also given up.

So with this in mind, we secured this pristine 'ghia style' condition latch using our highly techinical pilot-hole creating device (read: drill) and fastended it in place with a handful of 'V8 Supercar' specification self tapping screws.

The result was an almost factory fitment of a new rear door latch, which even boasts the ability to be locked securely using the industry standard Lockwood padlock.

Rumor has it that the big boys at Ford have heard about our new locking mechanism and are currently investigating replacing their high-tech remote central locking unit on the upcoming new Falcon model with something a little more 'tradey'. Fingers crossed they don't forget the royalty check.

Good as new!
