Eastside Automotive is now on Twitter

This post is going to mainly interest users of the Twitter website. For those people, you can now 'follow' our blog updates directly from Twitter. We've been quietly testing the water over the last few weeks and with the help from Sean at Eastside Digital now have a fully functioning automatic system to feed our Twitter page with the latest news from our blog - as it happens!

For the rest of you out there that have never heard of Twitter, it's best described as a 'micro-blogging' service where users can post small 'updates' of 140 characters or less answering the question 'what are you doing?'.

Wikipedia continues to explain Twitter as.. "Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. The sender can restrict delivery to those in his or her circle of friends (delivery to everyone being the default). Users can receive updates via the Twitter website, SMS, RSS, email or through an application such as Tweetie, TwitterFon, Twitterrific, Feedalizr or Facebook. For SMS, four gateway numbers are currently available: short codes for the United States, Canada, and India, as well as a United Kingdom-based number for international use. Several third parties offer posting and receiving updates via email. Twitter had by one measure over 3 million accounts and by another, well over 5 million visitors in September 2008 which was a fivefold increase in a month."
